In a striking parallel to the 9/11 attacks, unsettling support for extremist ideologies has emerged within Berlin's political landscape. Twenty-five years later, a former reporter notes how certain factions, including "Die Linke," align with rhetoric linked to devastating terror acts, urging voters to act at the ballot box.

A profound and unsettling parallel is emerging in Berlin, decades after the devastating 9/11 terror attacks. Here, extremist ideologies in Berlin find open support, echoing the hatred that fueled those horrific events and the massacres of October 7th. This concerning trend, involving certain political factions, demands urgent attention.

Twenty-five years ago, on September 11th, 2001, a clear Washington D.C. morning quickly turned into a day of unimaginable horror. What began as a serene sunrise photography outing swiftly descended into chaos. The unfolding terror attacks shocked the entire world.

The day started early for one observer, a German national, with a friend near the Lincoln Memorial. They aimed to capture iconic D.C. landmarks before dawn. Driving past the Pentagon around 5:15 a.m., the impressive building remained obscured in darkness. Hours later, it would become a target.

Meanwhile, American Airlines Flight 11 was hijacked over Massachusetts at 8:14 a.m. Its passengers faced just 32 more minutes of life. Shortly after, United Airlines Flight 175 was also seized, with its occupants having only 18 minutes left. These planes would soon strike the World Trade Center towers.

During the 17 minutes between the two New York City crashes, American Airlines Flight 77 was hijacked. At 9:28 a.m., Flight 93 was taken over above Ohio. The former reporter was already on the phone with radio stations, racing home to Virginia. He had driven past the Pentagon around 9:00 a.m., unaware of the imminent tragedy.

At 9:37 a.m., Flight 77 slammed into the Pentagon. Eight minutes later, the United States airspace officially shut down completely. This unprecedented measure came just before the South Tower collapsed and Flight 93 was courageously crashed in Pennsylvania. The North Tower fell at 10:28 a.m.

The reporter, who had covered terrorism extensively for Berlin’s “Radio Hundert,6,” informed listeners about Al Qaeda’s prior plans. Intelligence agencies had earlier discovered these Islamists intended to crash planes into buildings. This critical information was shared during an endless live interview.

Today, however, the focus shifts to Berlin. A disturbing alignment of certain far-left elements and Islamists now openly supports and even celebrates similar hateful ideologies. The “Die Linke” party, for instance, accommodates numerous alleged terror sympathizers within its ranks.

Recently, party members were seen dancing to a rapper’s music, featuring lyrics like “Yallah Yallah intifada” and “Death to the IDF.” Elif Eralp, a main candidate for Governing Mayor, expressed dismay over the incident. However, she has reportedly taken no significant steps to curb these tendencies.

This is not an isolated incident; “Die Linke” members have previously demonstrated anti-Israel sentiments and support for terror. The attacks of 9/11 and October 7th represent the deadliest terror acts of recent decades. Yet, their perpetrators continue to find enablers.

These useful idiots, as some term them, actively promote agendas of horror and death. Some are currently campaigning in Berlin’s upcoming September 20th state elections. Therefore, citizens must defeat these extremist ideologies in Berlin at the ballot box.
